Change of Use
Do you need to apply for planning permission to ‘change the use’ of the premises?
The Town and Country Planning Use Classes Order defines the specific use classes which business premises, industrial users, residential institutions, dwellings and leisure uses etc..... Planning consent is generally required to change from one use to another and is also often required to change the use of land, which is explained more fully in the Town and Country Planning Act and the Town and Country Planning (General Development) Order.
We can offer advice to establish whether change of use consent is required and if it is we can hold informal discussions with the Council to establish whether your proposals are likely to be acceptable. We can then prepare and submit a planning application for you and monitor its progress through the planning process to determination.
